Open for Business

If you can cast your mind all the way back to March 22nd 2013, when I had published my Prick and Stitch Mother's Day Card 2013 post, you might recall me muttering something about setting up a shop on Etsy. If it rings any bells, then not only am I seriously impressed, but green with envy that you have a memory far better than mine!

My intention had been to get my Etsy shop up and running by the beginning of May at the latest, in time to target customers searching for Father’s Day cards. In the UK, Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June, which I understand is the same for Canada and America, but not for Australia and New Zealand where it is celebrated on the first Sunday in September. However, due to my involvement with a number of other stitchy projects, Etsy was put on hold.

When I recently hit rock bottom after finding myself in an extremely dire financial tight spot, friends and acquaintances had effectively placed several large rockets up my backside, and insisted that it would be in my best interests to focus on getting my Etsy shop opened as soon as possible.

On 10th July 2013, I finally pulled my finger out and set up a *free* PayPal business account. Several hours later, Stitchy Stationery was officially launched and declared open for business. For the time being, I am only accepting orders from the UK (PayPal only), but hope to ship internationally in due course.
